Since news of an electric F-150 reached the public, Ford drivers have been eagerly awaiting more details. But Ford is focused on perfecting the eco-friendly version of America’s favorite truck in advance of the vehicle’s suspected mid-2022 debut.

Here at Burns Ford of York, we’ll keep you updated as we learn more! But for now, here’s what we know.

What We Know So Far

Ford has teased drivers with minimal details, hinting that the electric F-150 will be the most powerful model yet. They have confirmed that dual electric motors will be featured, and made claims that the electric F-150 will have more horsepower and torque than any truck in today’s F-150 line-up. This includes the Raptor, with its impressive 450 horsepower and 510 lb-feet of torque.

And we can’t forget the event Ford hosted in 2019, where they boldly put their prototype to the test. The task? To tow a 1,000,000-pound section of train cars loaded with F-150s. Mission accomplished. So it’s safe to say that the electric Ford F-150 will pack quite a punch.

Capability and Performance

Although Ford hasn’t offered many clues about the F-150’s battery capacity or charging time, folks in the know expect a maximum range over 300 miles. In fact, Ford hasn’t confirmed much at all about the truck’s capabilities – aside from big towing-capacity numbers and plenty of torque.

Styling

With only one photo of the truck’s front fascia to tide us over, drivers are eager for a glimpse of the vehicle’s interior. It is expected to look similar to regular gas-fueled models, with all the innovative features that Ford drivers are accustomed to.
