In fact, Kelley Blue Book ranks vehicles by projected retained value over the initial five-year ownership period. They recently announced the Best Resale Value Award of 2021, naming the top 10 vehicles with the best overall resale value.
KBB states that the average 2021 model year vehicle only retains about 40 percent of its original value after five years of ownership, making depreciation a common issue for drivers trading in. Each vehicle that appeared on KBB’s list is expected to retain at least 50 percent of its value over that five-year time frame. Two Ford vehicles are featured on the list!
